Buyer: Barceló Hotel Group, the Spain-based hotel owner and operator, has announced the acquisition of the Barceló Palmeraie in Marrakesh, Morocco,
Barceló also announced the acquisition of two additional pieces of land in the area for an undisclosed price. One plot next to the Barceló Palmeraie, on which 120 additional
keys will be added to the hotel and one plot three kilometres from Marrakesh’s city centre, where Barceló intends to build a 160-key, five-star hotel.
Located in the north of Marrakech, in the famous palm grove, next to Palmeraie Golf and just 11km from Marrakech-Menara airport, this five-star resort reflects an ancient Moroccan palace surrounded by 140,000m2 of walled gardens.
The resort has two outdoor swimming pools, and a new Mini Club and Kids Club, a wellness centre which is fully equipped with a gym, four treatment rooms and hammam, 10 meeting rooms, that can host an event or conference for up to 400 people.
