It is located in the municipality of Tacoronte, included within the protected landscape of the Lagunetas which constitutes one of the last forests of Laurisilva in the Canary islands. In 1951, a curious Belgian family arrives at Tacoronte, one Mr Camille Jules Reiching, architect by profession and carpenter of passion, together with his wife Elise Sauvenay Collard and his son Rene Mauricio Reiching, commander in chief of the Belgian Royal Forces.

They bought a small house in Agua García and converted this into a luxurious Mansion with large gardens. They were a wealthy family, but of a rare generosity. They helped the agricultural export of the local people and built the church, where they are buried. After their death, the House and the property was sold but sadly the property went into ruin leaving it abandoned for more than 30 years. The current owners are well on their way to restoring the house to regain it’s former splendour and to regain it’s rightful place in the world. The restoration is six months off completion and the owner is looking for a forward sale, to be made on completion of the works. All relevant planning permits are in place….there is scope to expand the number of rooms.

The hotel will have excellent facilities – five-star standard, compatible with sustainability, It has 7 rooms and 2 suites, with spa with all services, outdoor meditation area, yoga class and tai-chi. In any corner you can breathe the energy emanating from this forest.

There will be a meeting room, decorated in a neo-classical style, with a stunning fireplace to offer the most exclusive venue….and they offer wine tasting with it’s pairing, horse-back riding, hiking, quad-bike tour and riding.

Golf is available 10 minutes by car (6 km) at the nearby Real Club de Golf de Tenerife. The sea is similar distance (La Garanona).

For weddings, The House of the Belgians offers 5,000 sqm of gardens with countless romantic spaces so that one can enjoy an intimate wedding or event. GB
