Crowne Plaza London – Albert Embankment to Open June 2018

Date: April 2018

Location: Albert Embankment, London, UK…near neighbour to the new US Embassy

Name: Crowne Plaza London – Albert Embankment – opening June 2018. Five star

No. of Keys: 142, including six suites and a sky terrace on the 14th floor, holding 70 pax.

Seller: The property is being developed on a site which was previously occupied by Wah Kwong House, an office block within a wider area of regeneration between Battersea Power Station and Embassy Gardens.

Buyer/Developer: Owned by Dr Mudhar Shakat of Cannon Corporate, who will operate the hotel under the IHG Crowne Plaza brand.

This will be the first luxury hotel to open in the Albert Embankment area. This is central London’s latest area of regeneration, including the new home of the US Embassy and a whirlwind of high profile residential developments, from Battersea Power Station to Embassy Gardens.

The new hotel is symbolic of the new brand platform from Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resort that launched earlier in 2017 called ‘We’re All Business, Mostly’.

This $200 million brand investment shows the commitment to remain at the forefront of the new way of doing business with design-led, culturally-relevant and technology-enabled solutions, says IHG.

The management team, headed by highly experienced General Manager, Fabio Gallo, who has led a number of prestigious openings and ongoing GM role in his career  (Baglioni London, Me by Melia, Crowne Plaza London – The City).

THPT Comment: Good to see a further luxury/first-class hotel opening south of the River, to complement the Park Plaza near monopoly thus far. Just need another tube station besides Vauxhall now!
