Developer Piercy & Company Secures Permission for New Boutique Hotel in London’s Hatton Garden

Seller: The eight storey hotel will be part of a wider development project that includes a new housing block and the restoration of the Victorian Ragged School Building to create 25,000 sq ft of workspace.
Buyer: Developer Clerkenwell Lifestyle – parent GMG Real Estate, has secured planning permission to create a new 146-bedroom hotel in the historic Hatton Garden Conservation Area.
The hotel is said to be the first UK site for a ‘leading European boutique hotelier’ and is scheduled for completion in August 2021.
The design for the site on Vine Hill was developed in close consultation with Camden Council through a series of rendered street views.
The eight storey hotel features a contemporary, but heavily textured, deep facade of folding cast masonry piers, set against a view of the Ragged School’s historic crenelated tower.
There will also be a series of new publicly accessible external courtyards inspired by Clerkenwell’s many tightly knit streets and alleys.
