Buyer: Footballer Leo Messi buys the Casa Canut hotel in Andorra. The Barcelona Football Club player Leo Messi has acquired the 5-star Hotel Canut, located on Carlemany avenue in Les Escaldes, in Andorra . The operation has been carried out through the company MiM Hoteles, owned by Messi together with the Majestic Group. It is one of the most emblematic hotels in the country and has a total of 31 rooms.
The establishment, which was founded by the Canut family 50 years ago, was currently being run by the third generation, according to Placesdenieve.com. Until now, the owners have been considering the possibility of selling the accommodation for some time, although due to the current economic crisis due to the pandemic, they have been practically forced to sell it.
The hotel also houses the restaurant La Grandalla dels Set Pètals.
This acquisition expands the footballer’s portfolio, which already has four other establishments spread over Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, together with the Majestic Group, with which it partnered five years ago to break into this sector. In addition, it is the second snow hotel acquired by the Argentinian, since last June when the player acquired the Hotel Himalaya, located in the municipality of Naut Aran, one of the most luxurious hotel areas in Baqueira.
