Name: The Washington DC Lyle Hotel – opening April 2021

No. of Keys: 196

Seller: The hotel was the former Kimpton Carlyle, acquired by the Lore Group in 2008.

Buyer: The 196-room Lyle hotel, located in Washington DC, is set to open this April and marks the second hotel in the States for the group.

Of the 196 rooms, 56 will include a kitchenette, seven will be accessible, and one is a Penthouse Suite. Other facilities include a lower-level gym, a restaurant and bar serving seasonal American cuisine, and flexible event spaces.

The first floor of the hotel will feature the Parlor, a Gallery, and Lyle’s Private Dining Room, whilst on the lower level the Conservatory, Pantry, Drawing Room and Study will be located.

Lyle will join Lore’s other US-based hotel, Riggs Washington DC, in the Penn Quarter neighbourhood. It features 181 rooms and is housed in a former historic bank known as the ‘Bank of Presidents’.

Lore Group is the hospitality company behind Sea Containers London and Pulitzer Amsterdam. The company will reopen the former Ace Hotel London Shoreditch under a different name, which closed last year as a result of the Covid-19 crisis. The property is set to undergo a significant renovation and Lore Group have taken over direct management of the hotel.
