Developer: Russian developer Capital Group will deliver the property, which will run under a management contract. The project will be the first branded luxury residential development in Moscow.

Capital Group is one of the largest Russian development companies, with 25 years of experience specialising in the construction of some of the most complex landmarks in Moscow.

They have built up their portfolio to include 71 high-end residential and commercial projects with a total of 7 million square meters of space.

Vladislav Doronin, founder of Capital Group is a businessman, international real estate developer and art collector.

In February 2014, Vladislav Doronin became Aman Group’s majority owner
owner and chairman of Aman Resorts, and chairman and CEO of OKO Group.

Doronin started as a minor shareholder and was involved in a legal dispute regarding leadership of the group. In March 2016, the High Court in London confirmed that a settlement had been reached between Doronin and KPMG, liquidators for Amanat’s PHRL company.

The new holding company of the luxury hotel chain is called AH Overseas Ltd. As a result of the settlement, Doronin has full control over Aman Resorts.

In April 2015, Vladislav Doronin purchased floors 4-24 of the Crown Building on Fifth Avenue in New York for $500 million.

In October 2017, Aman announced that the property would be the new location for Aman New York, the company’s second urban destination after Aman Tokyo.

Aman New York will be a condo and hotel combination, including 20 condos ranging in size from 1,140-square feet to a 14,000-square-foot penthouse which will sell for over $100 million.

Doronin’s real estate development company OKO Group announced in March 2016 a luxury residential development of a 649-foot, 57-story tower, Missoni Baia, in collaboration with Italian fashion house Missoni.

The building’s architect is Hani Rashid of Asymptote Architecture, the project’s landscaping is by Swiss landscape architect Enzo Enea, and the interiors were designed by New York-based Paris Forino.

Doronin owned the publishing rights in Germany and Russia to Interview magazine, the style magazine founded by Andy Warhol.

The boutique property will feature guestrooms and suites, two restaurants, a lounge bar, and spa and wellness facilities including a 25-metre indoor swimming pool.

Pierre-Yves Rochon Studio has been appointed as the interior designer, alongside Sergey Skuratov Architects.

“We are delighted to be entering the Russian capital with this exciting new project located on an exceptional riverfront site in the centre of the city,” said James Riley, Group Chief Executive

We look forward to creating Moscow’s first hotel and residential project in a prime location in front of the Kremlin, overlooking the Moskva river. The property will redefine the standard for luxury accommodation in Russia,” said Pavel Te, Chairman of Capital Group.

THPT Comment: Great move for Mandarin…the hotel size is quite small for them. Wonder will the apartments get sold off, or operated as serviced apartments? Their partner Capital Group has an interesting history, with Aman Resorts under their belt.
