Marriott’s Four Points Brand Launches in UK on Site of Former Coaching Inn, Chequers Near Gatwick

Seller: The Chequers was owned by Cordial Hotels, who went into administration in 2013. Before that the hotel was under the Menzies hotels brand.
Buyer: The Nine Group has acquired and opened the first hotel in the UK under Marriott International’s Four Points brand, on the site of a former coaching inn near Gatwick Airport.
The 131-bedroom Four Points by Sheraton London Gatwick Airport will take the Nine Group to 12 properties in the UK, including hotels under the Novotel, Holiday Inn, DoubleTree by Hilton and Radisson brands.
The group’s pipeline also includes the Radisson RED London Greenwich The O2, due to open later this year.
Nine Group has been supported by funding from OakNorth Bank.

THPT Comment: We have often queried with Vivek Chadha whether the Nine Group was the right name, give that he has 12 hotels and growing! The Four Points signage is a wee bit incongruous with the imagery of the 15th century coaching in….but that’s progress for you!
