Buyer: Meliá announced at the international tourism trade fair FITUR (remember what trade fairs are?) it’s debut in the Greek islands with the addition of three hotels in Crete and Rhodes, in co-operation with the hotel company Zeus Hotels Greece, helping to consolidate its leadership in the Mediterranean.

Zeus Hotels started it’s hotel activity in 2013, taking over the management of four 4-star hotels in Crete & Rhodes that started operations in 2013. In 2015 the company added the 5-star Blue Sea Beach in Crete. For 2018 the 4-star Marina Beach and the brand new concept hotel Cook’s Club were launched in Crete, making a strong presence in the Greek hospitality industry.

As bookings to the safest holiday destinations in Europe begin to grow, the Cosmopolitan Hotel Affiliated by Meliá is already up to full speed on the island of Rhodes, where the Greek government has prioritised the vaccination of the local population to provide a safer environment for the arrival of tourists.

This four-star all-inclusive hotel boasts a prime location on the Ixia coast, 14 kilometres from Diagoras airport and a few kilometres from all the main attractions and the majestic medieval city of Rhodes, surrounded by shops, restaurants and nightlife, the ideal base from which to explore this historic and colourful island.

Built in the shape of an amphitheatre and surrounded by beautiful gardens and overlooking Trianta Bay, the hotel is ideal for couples and families with children, catering to all their needs with modern facilities and spacious and comfortable rooms, in addition to all of the health and safety protocols required to ensure a safe travel experience.

The hotel provides 377 rooms with views of the sea or the large gardens, and a full range of services to enjoy a holiday in paradise: among them, lounging around the large pools, watching the famous sunset from the main bar or savouring freshly prepared international, Mediterranean and local dishes in the buffet restaurant. The hotel also provides a gym and spa, as well as a swimming pool and a children’s club for the little ones. Ixia Beach, alongside the hotel, is a paradise for windsurfers and kitesurfers.

In addition to the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Rhodes, Meliá Hotels International has also announced the opening of two further hotels in Crete in 2022. The current Blue Sea Beach Hotel, a five-star resort with 226 rooms, will become part of the Affiliated by Meliá network, while the current 4-star Marina Beach Hotel with 396 rooms will be operated under the Sol by Meliá brand.

The Blue Sea Beach Hotel, currently a Zeus Hotel

Both hotels are located on the beachfront and provide everything travellers require to ensure the best holiday experience by the sea: extensive outdoor facilities, gardens, sports activities, varied dining options, wellness facilities, etc.

THPT Comment: Great news for Melia, with this partnership with Zeus, to give it three more hotels in Greece, two under the Affiliated by Melia brand.
