The Development: Abuja is the capital city of Nigeria, in the middle of the country, was built largely in the 1980s. It house the Presidential Complex, with the residence and offices of the Nigerian president in the Three Arms Zone on the eastern edge of the city. Nearby are the National Assembly and the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
The country has a population of 198 million (2018) and a GDP of US$397bn (2018) the highest in Africa. Abuja has a population of 780,000 and was declared the capital in 1991. It is home to 285 government agencies and 100+ overseas embassies, as well as HQ to many of the major Nigerian national and multi-national companies.
The project is being designed in three Phases:
Phase One: Prestige Villas – 24 top-end five bed/bath villas, 215 sqm – 100% completed
Phase Two: Royal Mansions – 11 luxury mansions, three storey five bed/bath houses with individual pool…1,000 sqm net area – 51% completed
Phase Three: Crystal Residences – high-rise top-end apartments and 200+ room hotel, four x 11-storey and two x 7 storey buildings; 120 apartments and 268 room hotel, with pool, full fitness-centre (3,000 sqm), shopping centre, restaurants and bars – in planning stage.
The whole development is on 5 hectares (12 acres) of land acquired by Zeberced Group in 2011.
The scope is still open as to what size the hotel will be…and could include golf and horse-riding (75,000 sqm) in addition to pool, spa etc
