Date: July 2021

Name: Radisson Hotel Group and Allego

Location: Pan-Europe

Number of Hotels: 220 Hotels, across Europe

Who: Radisson Hotel Group, one of the world’s top 10 hotel groups with nine hotel brands,  more than 1,500 hotels in operation and under development across 120 countries, and Allego, the leading pan-European provider of electric vehicle charging solutions.

What Did They Do: They have announced a strategic partnership to provide a Green Mobility network throughout Europe. This partnership aims to deploy and operate ultra-fast, fast and regular (AC) charging solutions for electric vehicles in over 220 Radisson Hotel Group locations across Europe, starting in the UK and the Nordics, with other European countries including Germany, France, and the Netherlands to follow.

Under the terms of the agreement, the co-operation targets that each European Radisson Hotel Group property can offer EV charging to it’s guests on site by 2025. Allego deploys and manages a range of charging solutions, accessible to all electric vehicle brands, including the newest ultrafast charging stations where many EVs can receive a full charge (recharge) in as little as 15 minutes.

The new Allego charging stations will be listed on all main wayfinding apps including Waze, Google Maps, and in-car navigation systems. The collaboration is focused on ensuring seamless payment capabilities, including the ability to pay for charging sessions via credit, debit and charge cards for over more than 150 European Mobility Service Providers (eMSPs).

Allego and Radisson will define the optimal charging infrastructure typology for each location, including ultra-fast and fast charging capabilities offered at Radisson’s hotels in high traffic locations, while regular (AC) charging will be available for guests staying overnight or attending meetings and events.

Radisson properties offer convenient amenities during charging, including grab & go snacks or beverages available in combination with ultra-fast and fast charging sessions at the hotel location.

This collaboration between two prominent companies leading the way in green mobility will accelerate the growth of Allego’s ultra-fast charging network along travel corridors and in metropolitan areas throughout Europe.

Chema Basterrechea, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Radisson Hotel Group said: “Radisson Hotel Group continues to be a leader in offering relevant guest experiences and setting the standard for global sustainability targets within the hospitality sector.

Passenger EV sales are set to increase sharply in the next few years, rising from 3.1 million in 2020 to 14 million in 2025. The partnership with Allego highlights how Radisson Hotel Group is acting today for the future benefit of all, by offering our guests convenient and reliable green mobility capabilities across our hotel network in Europe.”

Mathieu Bonnet, CEO of Allego: “We are delighted to partner with the Radisson Hotel Group which represents a key partner for our pan-European EV charging network, supported by their attractive footprint and highly-traffic locations. This partnership will allow us to bring our reliable, seamless charging experience and our pan-European network to a larger group of EV drivers and tap into Radisson Hotel Group’s well-situated network of hotels across Europe, allowing guests to charge their EV in the most convenient way.

Radisson’s Green Mobility Mindset is fully aligned with our vision and commitment to a zero-emission environment and are pleased to be partnered with such a high-calibre company”.

Inge Huijbrechts, Global Senior Vice President Sustainability, Security and Corporate Communications at Radisson Hotel Group said: “We are extremely proud to be working with Allego as we implement key initiatives in line with our corporate responsibility goals, including setting science-based emissions reduction targets aligned with the COP21 Paris Agreement.

Over the past 10 years, the Radisson Hotel Group saw a 30% reduction in carbon emissions, and our Radisson Meetings continue to be uniquely 100% carbon neutral, which collectively has enabled 30,300 tons of carbon offsets since 2019. This strong partnership across Europe will be a first step in positioning Radisson Hotel Group as the place to go for EV drivers and travellers with a Green Mobility Mindset.’
