Sale of Holiday Inn Express Ealing Completes, Through Christie & Co, to Lefar Group

Buyer: Christie & Co has completed on the sale of the Holiday Inn Express Ealing, a 3-star hotel located in the West London borough of Ealing to growing hospitality group, Lefar Group Limited.

The Holiday Inn Express Ealing began trading in November 2015 and is operated under a 20 year-term franchise agreement with IHG Hotels Limited. It was the first hotel in the UK to be designed and managed under the Generation IV brand specification, which specifically targets today’s ‘Smart Traveller’.

The chic, design-led hotel is located just 25 minutes from Central London by tube, with easy access to public transport, London Heathrow airport and various motorways, making it the perfect location to provide a city break, paired with great value rooms. The business draws in a strong mix of corporate and leisure guests throughout the week, with higher volumes of leisure bookings recorded over weekends.

The property comprises 80 modern ensuite bedrooms, spread over four floors. There is also a reception area, bar and dining area as well as a lobby and meeting/conference rooms. In addition, planning consent for an additional 28 rooms has been approved.

The new owners, Lefar Group Limited is operated by the Kazemi family. The family are experienced hoteliers who own several hotels in London and a number of commercial businesses internationally. They plan to build out the additional rooms and continue to operate under the IHG brand.

THPT Comment: This hotel, together with two other JMK London hotels, was put for sale in June 2019, so it has taken a while to close…but well done all concerned.
