Buyer: Splendid Hospitality Group has acquired The Stanwell Hotel located in Stanwell in Staines.
The takeover of the hotel, situated close to Heathrow Airport, takes Splendid Hospitality group’s UK portfolio up to 20.
Alongside its 53 bedrooms, The Stanwell Hotel is also home to 60 sq mtrs of function room space, plus a fitness studio and a restaurant.
The hotel is Splendid Hospitality Group’s second property in the Heathrow Airport area joining the Ibis Styles London Heathrow Airport East (formerly The Master Robert in Hounslow) due to open later this year.
Vice chairman Nadeem Boghani, said the group was considering ‘appropriate brand options’ for the hotel.
Over recent years, Splendid Hospitality has become the preferred franchise partner for several international hotel brands such as IHG, Choice, Accor and Hilton.
Splendid Hospitality develops and operates a range of hotel styles from budget and mid-scale to five-star.

THPT Comment: Slightly odd buy for Splendid, in terms of size (small) and location…not actually at Heathrow, although nearby…maybe a sign of not enough hotels for sale there, although I suspect we could have found them a branded 200+ room hotel!
