Buyer: Marking the second hotel in Australia for the brand, W Hotels has opened in Melbourne at 408 Flinders Lane.
The hotel comprises 294 guest rooms and 29 suites. Room categories Wonderful, Fabulous and Mega are inspired by newspaper kiosks that date back to the 1960s. The Marvelous rooms feature a graphic wall of a fairy wren, a bird native to Australia.
The Extreme Wow Suite is on the hotel’s highest floor at level 15, and comes with a large balcony with views of the Yarra River and an interactive music station.
Food and beverage venues include the all-day dining restaurant Lollo, under the direction of chef Adam D’Sylva; cocktail bar Curious; Japanese restaurant WARABI with seating for only 30 diners and a private dining room for 10; and the cafe Culprit.
The conference, meeting and event space is equipped with audio-visual facilities. The ballroom, GREAT ROOM, contains a 4×5-metre LED wall and visual artist Ash Keating was commissioned for the ceiling.
FIT and WET on level 14 offer a fitness facilities, gold-roofed indoor pool, poolside bar and DJ booth.
