No. of Keys: Paradisus: 802, with 34 pools!, which will be a differentiating element since it allows the hotel to have 190 Garden Swim Up rooms. It will also offer a wide and varied gastronomic offer in 12 restaurants and 14 bars, as well as facilities for holding events, weddings and honeymoons.
Varadero: A building of 12 floors, will have The Level, differentiated for families and Adults Only.
It will have 22 restaurants that will turn the hotel’s ground floor into a veritable gastronomic boulevard, and 15 bars with the best international and Cuban cocktails.
A Spa on the top floor with an infinity pool that offers the best views of Varadero beach, as well as a convention centre and will cater for weddings and honeymoons.
Operator: Meliá is currently immersed in the re-branding process of the Jagua Hotel and the La Unión Hotel to convert them into INNSIDE Cienfuegos Jagua and Meliá Unión, in Cienfuegos;
In 2019 it will celebrate the opening of the INNSIDE Camagüey, and in the year 2020, will incorporate hotels in Trinidad: the Meliá Trinidad Cuba, the Meliá Punta Ancón, and the Sol House Ancón.
At the FITCuba trade show in May 2018, an agreement was signed between the Cuban company Grupo Cubanacán, the British Ceiba Investments and the Spanish Meliá Hotels International, represented by its founder and president, Gabriel Escarrer Juliá.
This agreement implies the beginning of a new stage for the joint venture that owns the Sol Palmeras, Meliá Varadero and Meliá Las Américas hotels with the capital remodeling that entails a complete redesign of the product to adapt it to the latest trends.
The Meliá Habana is also part of this ambitious renovation plan that will also include an expansion of its residential floor and the creation of a modern convention center.
On the other hand, the financing contract for the start of construction of the Meliá Trinidad hotel that will take place this year was also signed.
The signatures of these agreements involve the investment of 150 million dollars by the owner, and are a reflection of the confidence shown by foreign investors in Cuba as a tourist destination.
The updating of the products and the new openings are the result of the commitment that Meliá acquired 28 years ago, together with its Cuban partners, for the sustainable and balanced development of tourism in Cuba.
In these years Meliá has had a constant growth in the island, which will take them to close the year with 34 hotels and 14,661 rooms.
