Buyer: French private equity firm Extendam has acquired three ibis-branded hotels in regional France, including the 57-room ibis Styles de Roanne, the 66-room ibis Budget de Marmande and the 54-room ibis Budget de Pouilly-en-Auxois. The acquisitions expand Extendam’s existing portfolio to 222 hotels and 17,196 rooms across Europe, with 46 hotels and 3,474 rooms in the 1-4 star segments in France and Germany.

Jean-Mark Palhon started investing in hotels about ten years ago, before founding EXTENDAM, an independent asset management company specialising in financing and long-term support for business hotel SMEs in Europe. He has been an entrepreneur and investor for more than 30 years and has specialised in third-party asset management for more than 20 years.

With around a hundred investments made by his teams and long-standing, close and trusted links with operators and brands, which include easyHotel, Best Western, Kyriad, IHG, Marriott as well as other Accor brands, Extendam is one the major players in Europe.

THPT Comment: Extendam, headed up on development by ex-Accor’s Jean-Jaques Dessors, seem set to continue expansion in 2021 and onwards.
