Seller: The site at Glassfields is being leased from Royal London, the largest mutual life, pensions and investment company in the UK and Ireland. AWW has been appointed to design the building, which construction began on in early 2019.

Buyer: The Fattal Hotel Group has today announced that it has signed a lease agreement to open a new hotel in Bristol. The 85,575 sq. ft. site will be part of the prestigious Glassfields development situated on Temple Way, at the gateway to the city’s Temple Quarter business district.
The hotel will be managed by Jurys Inn and Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland, and will mark the group’s first hotel presence in Bristol, which, once complete, will create an estimated 50 jobs.
Launched alongside a new mixed-use urban development – Glassfields – the hotel will include new office space and shopping outlets aimed at creating a cosmopolitan hub for both business and leisure travellers in one of Bristol’s highest profile locations.
Featuring 200 rooms, the new hotel will host modern and comfortable bedrooms, each boasting flat screen TVs, tea and coffee refreshment docks, stylish décor and ensuite bathrooms. The hotel itself will include a restaurant and bar, meeting facilities and a 24/7 staffed reception.
The brand portfolio consists of: Leonardo Hotels, Leonardo Royal Hotels and NYX Hotels by Leonardo Hotels, along with Jurys Inn (UK & Ireland) and Apollo Hotels (The Netherlands) hotel portfolio. In the UK and Ireland the group currently have 53 hotels with several others in the pipeline.
In early December, the group announced the acquisition of a prominent site on Adair Street, Manchester, marking its second deal in the city following its recent flagship acquisition of the iconic Midland Hotel. The group also recently announced the acquisition of the Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton, and well as the leases for four Grange Hotels, marking the group’s first entry into the Central London market.
In August, it revealed plans to invest £32m in the redevelopment and expansion of the existing Jurys Inn Edinburgh hotel and its neighbouring site. The investment includes proposed plans to extend the existing Jurys Inn by more than 100 rooms, convert an adjacent listed building into a new 131-room property by NYX Hotels by Leonardo Hotels, and the development of 31 new residential units on the 1.2 acre Jeffrey Street site.
