KSL Capital Partners Acquires Les Hôtels d’en Haut Portfolio of Five Hotels

Seller: The Perseus Group, a European hotel developer, owner and operator, headed up by Eric Darde. This portfolio is five hotels, of a larger number of hotels owned by Perseus, an independent lifestyle hotel owner and operator created in 2011 by Valéry Grégo.

They retain a few other hotels across France (Nice and Paris) and plans to expand into Europe over the next 10 years.

Buyer: KSL Capital Partners LLC has acquired Les Hôtels d’en Haut through an affiliate, from Perseus Group for an undisclosed amount. This is KSL’s first significant acquisition in continental Europe.

Les Hôtels d’en Haut operates five boutique hotels in premier leisure markets across France.

Eric Darde will serve as the company’s president/COO, continuing to grow his leadership role, which began in 2014.

With a range of 30 to 80 rooms and suites, the portfolio includes a total of 245 hotel rooms.

“At KSL Capital Partners, our primary focus is to invest in travel and leisure properties, and we understand the importance of hotels to their local community,” said Martin Edsinger, SVP at KSL.

Since 2005, KSL has raised four private equity funds and two credit funds with approximately $9 billion in equity commitments. Their investments range across travel and leisure businesses, such as hotels and resorts, clubs, fitness, family entertainment, skiing and resort real estate.

KSL has offices in Denver, Colorado; Stamford, Connecticut; and London, England.
