Groupe Ferré Hôtels Acquires Alliance Hospitality

Seller: LFPI Hotels Management, an asset management company that acts in several areas, capital investment (historic core business), co-investment, debt, asset management and real estate activities. In asset management, LFPI, which is also an historic majority shareholder in Timhotel, is positioned on markets in Europe, North America and Africa.

Buyer: Frere Hotels, headed up by Didier Ferre, has just acquired Alliance Hospitality from the Groupe LFPI. The latter will continue to manage the portfolio of hotel assets, only ownership will be transferred to Groupe Ferré Hôtels, which thereby becomes the new shareholder of Alliance Hospitality. Mr Ferre, is ranked No. 118 in France’s 500 Biggest Fortunes 2019.

He has a hundred hotels, ranging from 2 to 4 stars, alone and in partnership, such as Concorde Montparnasse. He was in the running to take over the Maranatha group.

Most of the hotels are urban properties and eleven of them are in Paris, the Ile-de-France region or French metropolitan areas. The last asset, focused on thalasso therapy, is located on the Atlantic in Pornic, in the department of the Loire-Atlantique.

The Groupe LFPI purchased this portfolio in 2015 from Lone Star. It thus managed the properties through the entity of LFPI Hotels Management.

The group from Rennes, Ferré Hotels is one of the leading Europe’s leading independent and franchised hoteliers. It is positioned with entry range assets (two star) and upscale (five star) properties. It owns both real estate and business entities.

THPT Comment: Ferre continues it’s expansion to create a serious French hotel group, with a good number of additional rooms in Paris.
