Seller: Maison Heler Metz will be built on the city’s former freight station near the Centre Pompidou-Metz, the Muse shopping center and the Congress Centre.
Buyer: Hilton, along with Dominique Gros, the mayor of Metz, France, and renowned designer, Philippe Starck, have set plans to open the Maison Heler Metz, Curio Collection by Hilton.
The 14-story hotel includes a €22.5-million investment led by Yvon Gérard and a consortium of investors.
The 119-room hotel will be developed as part of the Quartier de l’Amphithéâtre redevelopment. It will be the first property of the brand to be entirely created and developed from the ground up by Philippe Starck.
The hotel will be the first high-rise building constructed in the Moselle region that complies with the HQE-RT2012 High Environment Quality standards.
It will also be the fourth Curio Collection by Hilton hotel in France following the Grand Hotel des Sablettes Plage, Curio Collection by Hilton in La Seyne-Sur-Mer, the Maison Astor Paris, Curio Collection by Hilton and the Niepce Paris Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton in Paris.
The new Curio Collection hotel will join the brand’s portfolio of more than 20 hotels in Europe.
The brand’s pipeline in Europe also includes the London Gantry, Curio Collection by Hilton, which is scheduled to open in 2020 through a franchise agreement with The Gantry Group, a joint venture between Black Friar Holdings and an institutional investor.
The 18-story 285-guestroom hotel will be in East London near the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford International Train Station, Westfield Stratford City shopping mall and the Excel and O2 arenas.
