Hilton to Bring Curio Collection to Portugal

Owner: Hilton has signed a franchise agreement with Goldenflamingo Ida to open The Emerald House Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton next year in the city centre of the Portuguese capital.

The Emerald House Lisbon will be the first Curio Collection by Hilton property in Portugal. Upon completion of a multimillion-euro renovation, the property will have guestrooms, a fitness center, a restaurant and a bar for guests and local residents.

“The Portuguese tourism industry is growing and the number of foreign visitors rose more than 10 percent last year to reach a record of more than 12 million visitors,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, SVP development, EMEA, Hilton. “Lisbon is at the heart of this growth…It is the perfect time and place to be introducing Curio Collection to Portugal.”

This will be the fourth hotel that Hilton group operates in Portugal, and the second in Lisbon, after it opened DoubleTree in Picoas. The other two are located in the Algarve, one in Almancil, the other one in Vilamoura.
