Partnering IHG in this landmark project are PT Kapuk Naga Indah, the land and building owner and a subsidiary of property developer Agung Sedayu Group (ASG) and Salim Group. The signing marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between Agung Sedayu Group and InterContinental Hotels Group as one of their preferred partners for hotel projects in Indonesia.
Serena Lim, VP Development, IHG South East Asia and Korea says: “Indonesia continues to be an important growth market for IHG, and we continue to see the demand for an aspirational lifestyle experience across segments. As the world’s largest lifestyle hotel operator, we are delighted to be expanding Hotel Indigo into new markets.”
The PIK project responds to the desire for elegant living with world-class amenities, a dynamic social scene and natural touches close at hand. The development injects new energy to this exclusive zone in northern Jakarta. The hotel is a contemporary yet uniquely Indonesian neighbourhood experience, catering to a dynamic cross-section of travellers from around the world — who seek to work, relax, enjoy themselves, and gain local inspiration for their travels ahead.
Hotel Indigo Jakarta Pantai Indah Kapuk is a notable addition to IHG’s presence in Indonesia. The archipelago boasts the world’s fourth largest population, comprising 270 million citizens, with half of these millennials. As the first Hotel Indigo in Jakarta, the property will strengthen the brand equity of Hotel Indigo among hotel owners and developers, and increase awareness of the brand among growing numbers of domestic travellers.
Located within an exclusive development on Golf Island PIK or Kawasan Pantai Maju, the new 200-room hotel sits within a newly remixed neighbourhood, purpose-built for Jakarta’s dynamic work-play-travel lifestyle. Located just 13 kilometres or a 15-minute drive from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, and 20 kilometres or a 40-minute drive from Jakarta city centre, PIK development spans the coastal districts of North Jakarta. The development houses luxury homes, modern offices, internationally renowned education institutions and world-class leisure facilities — including a golf and country club, waterpark, luxury mall and hotels.
Opening in 2022, the hotel blends the many cultural influences of Jakarta with a modern Zen-inspired signature to its architecture and design. The artfully-designed interiors reflect the inspiration of the hotel’s vibrant neighbourhood, balancing a mix of Indonesian tradition and contemporary styling.
The hotel’s 1,076 square-metre adaptable function room hosts up to 375 guests, catering for any occasion. It’s well-equipped gym enables visitors to enjoy a regular workout to complement an active lifestyle while away from home. Facilities near the hotel is also suitable for outdoor activities e.g. jog and golf. Various retail outlets within the property allow visitors to purchase necessities, snacks and local souvenirs.
Guests at Hotel Indigo Jakarta Pantai Indah Kapuk enjoy unlimited access to the neighbouring Day Club, where they can socialise and utilise the club’s numerous facilities. For those wanting to explore the area, Hotel Indigo’s trademark Neighbourhood Hosts are on-call 24/7, tailoring personalised itineraries that broaden the ‘new Jakarta’ experience further.
Surya Pranoto Budihardjo, President Director of PT Kapuk Naga Indah, Agung Sedayu Group and Salim Group says: “PIK has thrived from a newly revived township to become the central hub of North Jakarta for commercial, social activities, tourism, entertainment, and culinary destination. In addition, several multinational companies have chosen PIK to base their corporate offices, increasing the demand for various facilities. The hotel will balance active, urban experiences with those that are more relaxing and which respect the surrounding natural environment — meeting the growing needs of today’s travellers and professionals, wherever they are from. We are delighted to join IHG in the development of this prestigious hotel, and look forward to delivering memorable experiences to guests at Hotel Indigo Jakarta Pantai Indah Kapuk.”
