Australia’s glittering Gold Coast will welcome its first direct beach-access resort in over 30 years next month, when The Langham Gold Coast throws open its lavish doors on June 23, 2022.

Housed within the tallest of the eye-catching Jewel Towers – a trio of multi-faceted high-rises between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach – the hotly-anticipated hotel will feature 138 rooms and 31 suites, together with an array of dining and wellness offerings. The suites comprise a Chairman’s, two Presidential, Fourteen Executive Ocaen View and 14 Junior suites, on floors 3 to 20.

It will join its siblings The Langham Sydney, nestled in the leafy heart of The Rocks, and The Langham Melbourne, which gazes out across the Yarra River in trendy Southbank.

Developed by AW Holding Group, which is also behind the upcoming One Circular Quay in Sydney, the $1.4 billion Jewel project has been in the works for almost eight years, after breaking ground back in 2014. It was originally scheduled to open in 2018.

First photos suggest it will be worth the wait, with The Langham Gold Coast its shining star.

Perched on the 20th floor, the Chairman’s Ocean Suite will be the hotel’s most exclusive offering, a chic sanctuary with two bedrooms and lounges, a full-size study, dining area and butler’s pantry. A grand marble bathroom with a circular tub completes the package.

There are also spacious Executive Ocean View Suites on the upper floors, large Junior Ocean Kings with a generous entertaining area, and the entry-level Superior Room.

Truly a room with a view

All rooms feature a 50-inch Samsung television with casting functionality, together with motorised sheer and blackout curtains, a Nespresso coffee machine, and smart room lighting.

John O’Shea, General Manager of The Langham Gold Coast says the hotel is excited to finally welcome its first guests, with the team eagerly adding the final sparkling touches.

“The Langham Gold Coast will bring together Langham’s global expertise in luxury hospitality and gastronomic dining with an iconic Gold Coast oceanfront location to provide a unique, one-of-a-kind hotel and dining and events experience,” O’Shea adds.

The hotel will also manage the Jewel Residences: one, two, three and four bedroom apartments, each with a full kitchen and enjoying complimentary housekeeping. The Residences are between the 21st and 49th floors.

Seven delicious food and beverage offerings will be on hand to tickle your taste buds too, including signature Cantonese venue T’ang Court, the all-day Akoya restaurant, and Coral Moon cocktail bar, which utilises its own herbs and botanicals grown onsite.

Travellers with a sweet tooth are in luck too, with The Langham’s famous High Tea making a welcome appearance at Palm Court.

For relaxation, Chuan Spa offers pampering wellness treatments guided by traditional Chinese medicine, along with two swimming pools and a health club gazing out to the Pacific.

Members of The Langham’s ‘1865’ loyalty program will also enjoy exclusive benefits, with its top tier Voyager status unlocking room upgrades and a choice of welcome amenity after five stays or 15 nights.

THPT Comment: You have to hand it to Langham, and the developers…maybe a bit late in coming, but looks like a fab addition to the Gold Coast hotel scene
