“We are delighted to launch this innovative partnership with The Oberoi Group, setting the stage for us to push the boundaries of luxury hospitality… I am confident that by working together both organisations will grow and create further differentiation in the industry that our guests will value” said James Riley, Mandarin Oriental’s Group Chief Executive.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is the owner and operator of 33 hotels and seven residences in 23 countries and territories, with each property reflecting the Group’s oriental heritage and unique sense of place. Mandarin Oriental has a further pipeline of 19 hotels and 13 residences under development….. and is a member of the Jardine Matheson Group.

Among services now available to customers, members of ‘Fans of MO’ and ‘Oberoi One’, the brands’ respective recognition programmes, will have privileged access to over 50 luxury hotels, exclusive experiences and offers and invitations to bespoke events.

“We have long been ‘fans’ of Mandarin Oriental. Our brands and organisations’ values and culture complement each other well. This alliance will allow guests to experience new destinations and experiences in the legendary styles for which both companies are renowned” said Vikram Oberoi, Managing Director and CEO of EIH, the flagship company of The Oberoi Group.

The Oberoi Group, with its head office in Delhi, was founded in 1934. The company owns and/or operates 33 luxury hotels and two river cruise ships in seven countries, under its Oberoi Hotels & Resorts and Trident brands.

THPT Comment: This tie-up makes sense…two groups are truly compatible in style…it gives Mandarin the entry into India, they have been looking for, for a while now, and puts Oberoi onto a global stage. In the post Covid-era will we see more affiliations like this?
