The Seises Hotel in Seville will arrive after the conversion of a historic boutique hotel in the centre of the Andalusian capital with the collaboration of the Fontecruz group. Located in the Santa Cruz neighbourhood it is known for the views of the Giralda from the terrace. It has 42 rooms, swimming pool and outdoor bar.

In the same city, Marriot International will open the Hotel La Querencia in Seville. In front of the Cathedral, the hotel has a fully equipped gym for a complete workout, as well as a rooftop with an outdoor pool. The accommodation will have 95 rooms.

In Ibiza, it will open the Riomar Boutique Hotel in April 2021, after the conversion of this asset located next to the W Ibiza. Its direct access to the beach stands out and that more than 50% of its 58 rooms have views of the Mediterranean. It also has an outdoor pool, lounge area and a secret Tribal garden.

Lastly, Marriot International will also open a hotel in the Canary Islands. The AC Tenerife, AC by Marriott is located in the heart of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The old Maya warehouse building has been converted into a four-star hotel with 83 rooms and a terrace with a pool and bar.

In total, the firm has 73 hotels under management and 25 under franchise in Spain, none owned, under renowned brands such as AC, Design Hotels, W, Sheraton, The Ritz-Carlton and the Marriott itself.

Despite the economic uncertainty generated by the pandemic, hotel investors and developers plan to undertake a total of 130 new projects with more than 19,000 rooms , according to EY’s The Hotel Property Telescope report.

It should be noted that these initiatives will represent 14% of the new activity in
the non-residential real estate market in Spain between 2021 and 2025.

65% of the construction and rehabilitation activity will be done on hotels in the urban segment, with the aim of relaunching its value proposition to the market. While the vacation segment will represent 35% of the new activity, anticipating a closer recovery .

THPT Comment: Wow significant confidence in Spain, which, along with Italy and Portugal has generally been showing “Covid weakness”.
