Location: Great Marlborough & Poland Streets, Soho, London, UK
Name: TBA
No. of Keys: 200
Shiva Hotels and Reuben Brothers have entered into a joint venture to transform a prime site in London’s Soho.
The companies are working closely with the local community and Westminster City Council to combine two separately consented hotel schemes on Great Marlborough Street and Poland Street.
Creating a 200-bedroom luxury lifestyle hotel that will also incorporate substantial restaurant and retail space, the new hotel is set to become a local focal point for the neighbourhood.
Rishi Sachdev, Managing Director of Shiva Hotels, commented “We are delighted to be working with the Reuben family on this joint venture. We are looking forward to adding another truly great central London location to our soon-to-be revealed luxury lifestyle hotel brand.”
In addition to the Soho development, other sites that will come under Shiva Hotel’s new umbrella include Marylebone Lane, Covent Garden, Buckingham Gate and Holborn.
JLL and Michael Elliot advised Quadrum Global on the sale of 54 and 55-57 Great Marlborough Street to renowned hospitality entrepreneurs, David and Simon Reuben.
The site comprises two prominent adjoining freehold buildings currently totalling 44,000 sq ft with 100 ft of prime frontage to Great Marlborough Street.
Planning permission has been granted for the demolition and redevelopment into a 118-key hotel with retail, restaurant and bar area totalling 63,400 sq ft over two basement levels, ground and seven upper floors.
Along with their existing pipeline of hotel developments in central London, including near Grosvenor Square Mayfair, the “In & Out Club” on Piccadilly and the Millbank complex in Victoria, the Reuben Brothers will be bringing over 1,000 new hospitality jobs to the capital.
THPT Comment: Great bed-fellows – Shiva, great hotel operators, with the financial muscle the Reuben brothers can bring to the party…can see plenty more announcements to come.
