Soho House Launches into Beach Clubs with Site on Mykonos

Seller: Was Scorpios and the 40-bedroom San Giorgio hotel.  Founded in 2015 by Thomas Heyne and Mario Hertel, Scorpios is a beachside social retreat with a Mediterranean restaurant, bar, a bazaar selling handcrafted items, and event spaces and stages for sunset music performances.

The adjacent San Giorgio hotel, on a hill above Paraga beach, has 270-degree views, a swimming pool and restaurant.

The move marks the first step in Soho House’s plans to build on its existing network of 23 houses globally by creating similar beachfront locations in the UK, Europe, US and Asia.

Scorpios and San Giorgio, which will open a new restaurant on Mykonos later this year, are said to share “a relaxed home from home feel with Soho House” built around a love of food, design, art and music.

As well as using Scorpios as a benchmark for other beachfront sites worldwide, a Friends of Scorpios membership will be created that includes priority access to Scorpios and family rates at San Giorgio hotel and Soho House bedrooms around the world, and discounts on Soho Home and Cowshed. Soho House members will automatically get Friends of Scorpios added as part of their membership.

In 2020 San Giorgio will be transformed into Little Roc House, becoming part of the Soho House family of hotels, with bedrooms available to Soho House members and Friends of Scorpios.

Scorpios will reopen following a winter break on Sunday 12 May 2019.

Soho House & Co’s eclectic portfolio of global businesses comprises 23 private members’ clubs and hotels, including the Ned and Soho Farmhouse, 13 restaurant brands, the Soho Home collection of furniture and interior accessories and Soho Works workspace.

Soho House Hong Kong and Soho Warehouse in downtown Los Angeles will opening this year, while launches in Paris and Milan have been confirmed for 2020.
