Young’s Pubs Group Opens Flagship Pub With Rooms Following Major Refurb

British pub group Young’s has opened The Spread Eagle in Wandsworth following a major refurbishment.
Set to be Young’s flagship pub, the Grade-II listed property has undergone major renovations, including the addition of 21 boutique guest bedrooms, and joins the 36 or so hotels the pub chain has in the UK.
Headed up by experienced pub landlord Connal Donovan, The Spread Eagle pays homage to the archetypal great British pub, showcasing traditional Victorian features including etched glass, reclaimed wooden floorboards, brass fittings, vintage leather furnishings and open fireplaces.
The design led bedrooms follow a similar aesthetic, featuring patterned wallpaper and vintage style furnishings. The pub’s Brewery Suite is also home to a free standing roll top bath and original fireplace.
The pub’s kitchen is overseen by Head Chef David Waller, who has designed menus which focus on seasonal British produce with hearty, crowd-pleasing dishes.
Expect to find the likes of a ‘catch of the day’ and local premium prime cuts from Butcher’s Table and Godfrey’s, paired with a selection of local craft and draught beers.
The opening of The Spread Eagle also marks the return of Young’s head office to its historical Wandsworth home, where the brewery was established in 1831.
Previously based on the outskirts of the town, Young’s head office is moving back to the centre with a new office space, training and development kitchen directly behind the pub.

Found on Wandsworth High Street, The Spread Eagle is open now and joins fellow Young’s pubs, the Brewers Inn, The King’s Arms and The Alma.
